Responsibilities JOB PURPOSE: Responsible to oversee and support asset management, operations, engineering, and maintenance activities related to the Group’s renewable energy portfolio. In support of portfolio growth, the incumbent shall also be responsible for identification, exploration, and assessment of emerging clean energy solutions for their technical feasibility, environmental sustainability, safety, regulatory compliance, and ability to predictably meet Nebras Energy’s desired business outcomes. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Description Asset Portfolio Management: - Demonstrate exceptional knowledge and understanding of: - Clean energy generation technologies including solar PV, wind (onshore/offshore), hydroelectricity, and geothermal. - Grid-scale energy storage technologies including battery (current and developing chemistries) and long-duration energy storage technologies including pumped hydro, gravity, LAES, CAES, and thermal. - Low-emission fuels and related production technologies including biofuels, hydrogen, and electrolysers. - Maintain awareness of market developments and advancements in clean energy technologies, and their related impacts on the renewable energy industry with particular focus on performance, efficiency, and reliability improvements, as well as lifecycle cost optimization. - Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and optimize the results of technical and business impact trade-offs. - Continually push the boundaries for technological and commercial - Sponsor and sustain an environment of collaboration and teamwork to continually raise performance standards and bar of expectations. Financial & Compliance Management: - Conduct detailed financial analyses for the assets, including budget management, cost control, and profitability assessments. Calculate and monitor financial metrics such as the Internal Rate of Return for each asset class. - Ensure all operations comply with local, national, and international regulatory requirements, particularly focusing on environmental, safety, and operational regulations pertinent to renewable assets. Planning and Risk Management: - Support the creation of business plans, development of budgeting instructions, and performance of techno/commercial reviews in support of the Nebras Energy’s portfolio planning and budget process. - Manage, control, and organize work in accordance with established project management principles; identify priorities; anticipate resources needed and allocate resources when planning the work of others and remain flexible in a changing business environment. - Develop and actively manage approved supplier lists for technology service providers. Track technology services market prices to ensure optimal provisions of sourcing solutions. Support Due Diligence and M and A exercises as directed. Performance Monitoring and Reporting: - Analyse issues and formulate decisions with limited information if situation demands. - Implement structured problem-solving techniques, based on deep knowledge of business and technology fundamentals. People Management: - Lead interactions with suppliers, universities, laboratories, and other stakeholders in setting up technology partnerships and programs to further Nebras Energy’s strategic priorities. - Engage with all stakeholders to assure comprehension of the Business mission and alignment with goals and objectives. - Build relations and establish credibility as a trusted advisor for colleagues and JV Partners. - Adopt a management style based upon collaboration, partnership, openness, and inclusion. - Encourage teams to communicate, and actively lead performance initiatives taking personal accountability to meet deadlines in a challenging business environment. Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures: - Oversee the management and monitoring of all contracted renewable technology services and activities. Lead and disseminate assessments of the current techno-commercial status of the business. Identify optimisation and restructuring potential of existing renewable technology service agreements. - Foster an environment of highly empowered, self-directed, and competent technical support for the negotiation and management of contracts with OEM’s and EPC’s. - Track renewable technology developments, engaging with industry peers and networks to keep abreast of industry developments and innovation. - Control and maintain best-in-class renewable technology practices and performance. Continuous Improvement: - Ensure continuous improvement and sustained excellence in the delivery of technical services through proactive, cross functional exchanges/dialogue, and the applications of lessons learned. Provide Project management leadership as requested. - Develop and enable the application of continual learning processes to leverage Nebras Energy Portfolio knowledge and outcomes to ensure the delivery of the Nebras Energy Portfolio Business Plan. Design and enable value realization from warranty provisions. Reporting - Ensure that all department reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet Nebras Energy requirements, policies, and quality standards. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS: Education/Experience Requirements: - University degree in Engineering with emphasis on Renewable Energy, Electrical or Power from a recognized university. Secondary degree in Business Administration is preferred. - Minimum of 10 years of renewables technology experience in which 6 years should be in renewable energy OEM or operating businesses. - Professional user level skills in computing, Microsoft Office and user level skills in utility scale plant design and techno-economic systems (pvDesign, System Advisor Model, etc.). Required Special Skills: - Strong, broad based technical knowledge of renewable energy technologies and designs. - Familiarity with renewable asset operational best practices to support the development of lifecycle cost optimization and plant reliability, availability, and efficiency strategies. - Continuous improvement mindset and commitment to operational excellence for all aspects of renewable energy generation including technical, commercial, EHSS, workforce, regulatory, etc. - Good understanding of modern business practices, with strong commercial mindset and analytical capability. - Exceptional knowledge and hands on experience with renewable energy IEC standards and their applications. Extensive experience with stakeholder engagement, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. - Prior experience working in a multinational environment, with respect for various cultures and customs. Ability to work with teams from diverse cultural backgrounds across broad geographies. - Ability to identify design and performance improvements up to and including repowering opportunities. - Familiarity with SCADA / monitoring systems and advanced cyber-secure asset communication solutions. Ability to work outside of normal business hours, and flexible for geographic mobility assignments as required.
